Life and Love of a Filipina

I Shall Return

By Blue Rose on Saturday, 10 of July , 2010 at 10:56 am

Hello hello everybody! I’m back, just like McArthur said ”I Shall Return”, and here I am!

It’s been quite long since I had a vacation from writing, well guys the reason is I’ve been married, you can’t blame me from being away hehehe… but it’s good to be back in the circle again and here I am!

Well first of all, I want to share my precious moments from the start of proposing… ayayayyy… hehehe, planning and the grand day of my life, and of course I almost forgot the ”honeymoon”, hehehe… so hold on tight and prepare to explore my married life. Well its a quite long story, but I will make it short so you guys will not be bored.

Chapter 1- Proposing

Once upon a time, there was a princess who live in a castle far far away, ops! Sorry it’s not Shrek and Fiona, hehehe…

Ok, I meet this guy in one of the dating site found in the Internet, hey it’s the modern day of looking for your new partner in life you know. Well we catch up so fast, but he is in Europe and I am in the Philippines. Distance is not a hindrance for the person who is in-love. So for short he visited me in the Philippines, we celebrated Christmas and New Year together. Then again came back in the Philippines in February for his birthday, then we travel twice to Bangkok, Thailand in 1 year, first just 10 days then second is whole month holiday, what a holiday!

Later in September I went to Norway in Europe to visit him, such a nice country, but not so nice weather, I mean it’s very cold and snowing, well I have seen snow for the first time in life,I’m great full for that.

We go back to proposing, how did he propose marriage on me? Well we are in Bangkok, Thailand that time, we are having our 1 month holiday there. We decided to have dinner in Sky Hotel, the tallest hotel in Bangkok, we ate, talked and tour around the 83rd floor, then we went up to the revolving deck on top of 85th floor, it was very nice, you can see the whole Bangkok City.

Hmmmm… while I was enjoying my sight seeing, he start talking about marriage and plan about it, I am just listening, then he…

Experienced Preferred…But not Required

By Blue Rose on Sunday, 2 of August , 2009 at 4:46 pm

I had read this book that my husband bought in Bangkok, Thailand 3 days before we get back home.

This book is about the experiences of foreign teachers in Thailand. How they teach, interact, their life stories in Thailand, how they perform their teaching. It’s quite entertaining for some of the stories are funny and some are inspiring.

filipina-teacher

Establishing a teaching career to different parts of the world is interesting yet quite difficult, especially when you’re just starting to know the children you’re going to teach. In my experience as an English teacher of Korean children, it’s quite difficult if your students are beginners and doesn’t know how to speak even just a one word English, but you have to be patient, you are their guide and stepping stone in learning easy and fun English.

In some of the story written, as the title say experienced preferred…but not required, even if your not a graduate of any English courses but you have taken the TEFL you can teach with the starting of 30,000 baht. Lots of Western and American are there for this kind of job, and they doing quite well.

Some are just teaching to have an earnings while they are staying there, for them to have a work and pleasure, what I mean is they are receiving a salary of 40,000 baht/monthly, that’s quite a lot of money in Thailand and you can live happily and leisurely with that amount, and take note, for single male teachers having that kind of salary, they can have as many girls as they want every night. It’s true. Even if they don’t do their job very well they are still being paid, in one of the story, the lady is not really doing her job, just giving the students some paper works and she will go out to have a smoke then go back in the class to check, her reason for the new teachers that notice her is that the administrator doesn’t care, coz its not there to check if you are doing your job or not. Imagine the students paying big sum of money just to learn English…pity for them. This kind of teachers doesn’t belong in the honorable teachers list.

Some teachers are very keen on their work, they love their job, they devote some of their spare time to have a tutorial class to students that are willing and striving to learn the language. They are the best teachers that are giving importance to the students even if they belong to the high level of people in Thailand.

You see, teachers are really different, in the Philippines you have to devote your time, energy, mind and power to teach the students what they have to learn. You have to care for each of your students learning coz you are their teacher and second parent. You have to guide them, in every road that they want to take, you have to be there in every ups and downs of their studies, you have to praise them in every accomplishments they made; you have to support them when they fail.

These are the noble teachers doing noble deeds and we salute them, if not because of them we are not in our position.

Later on it was brought to Lampang province by King Samfangkaen and remained there for 32 years, until 1468 when Chiangmai had a powerful king, King Tiloka had the Emerald Buddha brought to Chiangmai.

A Fly to Bangkok

By Blue Rose on Friday, 12 of June , 2009 at 11:22 am

May 30 2009, I woke up early and prepare myself in going to the airport. After I ate breakfast, I got a taxi and went there. I came as early as I can at Treminal 2 International Flight, coz you know our system, processing our papers to travel out of the country is so difficult. I got my ticket from Philippine Airlines to Bangkok, my luggage is ok. I went next to the immigration department, checked, they ask questions, and then it’s ok. Waiting area, oh no, our flight was delayed so I have to wait for 2 hours, such a trip. I bought food and drinks to eat, and then I went to computer table and checked my emails.

At last our plane came, hurray!! But, hrrrrr…still we have to wait another 50 minutes coz they are checking the plane. I know its necessary coz it’s for the passengers good. Time to board the plane, I’m excited of course, silly but it’s my first time to go out of the country even just for a vacation. I found my seat beside the window, I like sitting beside the window coz I can see the things down the plane.

Then we flown into the sky, nervous, excited, I don’t I know what to feel…ahhhhh..I want to shout when our plane is having turbulence and when it’s going up and down, I can feel that my whole soul is lifting and coming out of my senses, oh my God!! The weather that time is not so good that’s why it’s rough.

Then it was ok, ah I feel relief thank God. I saw this man sitting in front, first row. I saw him before at the ticketing booth, he talked to me and I’m happy coz at least my flight was not boring at all. He is an Israeli, having a vacation trip, he already did have a round tour in the Philippines so he’s next stop is Bangkok before he went home. It was a nice conversation, by the way he is married so no space for me..hehehe..just kidding.

Anyways, I heard the attendant said we are going to land in a few minutes. WOW! BANGKOK HERE I COME!!! We landed just in time, then got off the plane, walk and walk and walk, oh by golly this airport is so long..I’m already tired. At last, the immigration again, checking the passports and everything, then she said go back and fill up this form using ball pen not pencil, such stupid of me, I should have fill it up using ball pen when I was on the plane. Then fell in line again. Oh thank God, I’m through. Got my luggage and went to the exit. Then I just look up for my fiancée, he went there a day earlier coz in Norway it has already a straight flight to Bangkok. I was in the last exit so I have to walk and walk again, until I saw him..oh my thank you.

He did not recognize me at all, but its ok coz at least I saw him, my eyes is clear enough..hehehe…Then we went to our hotel named Royal President Bangkok. By the way he invited me to have a holiday there; he too is having a holiday, for 8 days.

That is my first story, I will tell you next time what places we visited in our holiday.
