Life and Love of a Filipina

About Blue Rose a Filipina Teacher

I am Blue Rose a true-blue Filipina with Spanish blood. I was born ( June 12, 1982) to a simple family living in a small town in Camarines Sur. Second born and has three male siblings. A consistent honor student from elementary to college, I was awarded “Most Outstanding Student and Graduate for the Year 2006″ and “Loyalty Award”, the placing first among all college students ranked on the basis of academic excellence (1st honor since first year college), leadership ability (”Excellence in Service Award, School President”), and special achievements (”Best Local Government Scholar of the Year”, given by our honorable town mayor). Active in local Organizations and Youth Leader in our street. I have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Major in General Science from one of the schools in Camarines Sur.

After I graduated high school, I worked as a saleslady and cashier, in one of the stores in our town for 6 months. Then I worked as a waitress in a small restaurant in Naga City, owned by my Godmother and Godfather for another six months. Year 2001, I went to Paranaque City, Metro Manila to work as a Fixer Operator in a Wig maker company, import and export. I worked there for one year.

Then I went back home, decided to continue my studies in college. Sad to say we don’t have enough money to fund my studies, but I didn’t lose hope, because I am very much decided to pursue to finish my degree. So I applied as a scholar student in our Local Government Office, luckily my scholarship was granted.

“After all life is really simple… It is the circumstances that makes it complicated”

I was elected as the first president of our newly established school, I was also the first Miss Intramural, and the designer of our first school uniform. That was so amazing, because I got all the first. Year 2004, election year, I worked as a volunteer campaign secretary of our town mayor, because he ran again for mayoral position, but unfortunately we lost, anyways its the game, someone win, someone lost.

Sometimes when our professors are busy, they asked me to be their substitute teacher for their class in college. Its good for me, because I’m practicing my course, with my classmates. Our class was being held at night time, so I have time to work at day time, I sell cooked snack food. Sometimes I helped my mom and aunt in doing the laundry for the people who are renting and living in my grandmothers house. During weekend, me(one of the singer ) and my band are being rented to perform in fiestas, weddings, and parties, so I earned some money for my allowance and projects. Then I applied as a part time waitress again at a restaurant during my fourth year in college, because the expenses for projects and research works are growing, so I have to look for an alternative way to earn.

“Success often comes to those who dare and act; It never goes to the timid who are afraid of the consequences”

With God’s help, support from my family and my will, I finished my studies with great and highest honor. I felt so happy and relieved, because I already finished the first stage in my life. I know, still there are so many paths and hindrances for me to overcome in order to fulfill my goal.

“A journey to a thousand miles begin with a single step”

At the age of 25, I give birth to a beautiful baby girl, I’m not married, for me, its not necessary as long as I have a child. I’m at the right age, emotionally, mentally and physically prepared to be a mother, even though I am alone, I know I can give my child a better future.

“Have faith in yourself that you can do it, as long as you never hurt anyone, go for it”

After a year, I worked as an English tutor in a Korean English Camp located in Tagaytay City. After 6 months I was promoted as a Supervisor. Sometimes I also do on line teaching to Korean students that are based in Korea. I really love my students, because they are so cute and I always see my daughter on them. My students also liked me very much, sometimes we go out together to have fun and tour them around Tagaytay.

I can rate myself as 50% openminded and 50% not, you see everybody have to change their lifestyle. Even though I am a teacher, I’m still human and not perfect, people are always telling and saying, you’re a teacher you should be a role model to your students. People also pays high respect to teachers, I am still a respectable teacher. Teachers are always the apple of the eye of people, if you are good they will praise you, but if you are bad they will degrade you, life is not fair, right? But I’m just being true to myself and I don’t like pretending, because I think people pays greater respect to someone who shows her true self.

Don’t be afraid to face your fear, to do what you want to do, teachers are also an ordinary human with strength and weaknesses, with needs and wants, with dreams not just being a teacher. To everybody who reads my profile, don’t judge me as what can you just see by your eyes, be rational and fair, this is my opinion and everybody has their own right to establish their own identity.

“The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants is the will to try it and faith to believe that it is possible”

“Destiny is not a matter of chance…it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for..it is a thing to be achieved”…

Thank You

The sun sets upon the golden sand
I wish we sit together hand in hand

We gently embrace and look into each other’s eyes
I wonder if you are An angel in disguise.

Love from Peter
